modern 4 strokes are real nice to ride with no real power band just consistant torque right the way through the revs. they dont really like going upside down too much and can be a pig to start when hot. im pit mechanic for a couple of mates who race and in the enduro series most of the bikes are 2 strokes, at the recent tough one 12 hour enduro in south wales a 144cc ktm beat factory bmws and other high profile race bikes

thorpey was a little before my time but he will always be a legend. my friends father was a big follower and has a cr500 collection of various models over the years from red rockets to later water cooled models.

motocross aint the same with 4 strokes, kinda like moto gp when they went to the dark side.

whenever im spectating or competing i will always support the 2 strokers!!!

me too!!!!!! i started on a smoker, loved it! but a thumper is far more practical for poping down the lane!!

Good luck with bike vduben.

Wr's are nice bikes, I raced a WR 250f 2 seasons ago, after getting sick of my KTM 450 getting stuck. and getting cripling arm pump.

Now back to the 2 smokes, 'GasGas EC 200' they depreciate faster than a lead baloon but I absolutley love them.

Done 16 races this year and it's never let me down, Hare and Hounds and timecard enduros, and one exreme enduro which is better off forgotton about.

Get a few hours in on the trails and then have a go at racing its the best way way to spend a sunday afternoon.

Not as yet, this year I've done the Dirtbike-traxs cross coutry series, North Yorks area (Hare and Hounds) and few of the North of England Enduro Championships (Timecard enduros) and the Dirtzberg extreme enduro in Penrith which wasn't all that good.

I'm on the lookout for a decent camper so I can do the british Championships next year and I'm going to do all the North of England Rounds if possible, its much preferable to a hare and hounds.

Got my presentation night in Harrogate on saturday night, I came third in the Clubman Open Class so I'll get a trophy and probably a Litre of Putoline as a prize. But at least I get a good night out.
