I am pretty sure the SJ was designed for use with Viper for Gleistein.

I use Velocity on LJ it works well but haven't tried anything else for the about 3 years now.

Yeh its a good rope for the SJ,I just got some the other day and works well,Still getting used to 11mm rope tho.

do you recon it performs better than tachyon or poison ivy atree?

Tachyon is better than Poison Ivy as it just seems to feed better on ascents. Although i did have a bash on my low stretch SRT line which performed better than both of them. Its got the exact same CE numbers which i checked with my LOLER guy who said its fine to use as a normal climb line. But i do mainly keep it for the Rope Wrench system.

 

All in all its what you prefer, smaller diameter ropes will obviously feed better than a larger diameter rope. But a stiffer built line may feed better than a softly built line, (beal vs ivy).

I'm using New England Fly and find it works perfectly. It's a pretty soft rope, but doesn't seem to matter once you get used to the motion of feeding the rope into the SJ.
