Sharpenning Greenteeth with anglegrinder

I thought you needed a bench grinder setup to do greenteeth because the tooth is dish shaped, I would imagine it's quite hard to get the dish angle uniform using an angle grinder by hand.

There is a picture of how it's done on the greenteeth website iirc.

I saw that. I looked at their sharpenning set up using a bench grinder and a bench drill, but I don't see how that set up would retain the dish shape on the bottom of the tooth either. Doesn't look like there's all that much tungsten on them for sharpenning, saying that I can't quite see where the steel starts.

Using a 4" disc on the bench grinder is enough to give it the dish it needs, there is a fair bit of tungsten on them, the only problem I have heard of with grinding them is that as they get ground down they get slightly narrower due to them being tapered slightly and someone said that when they get down a bit it starts slowly wearing the retaining nut away.

I don't run greenteeth, this is what I found out about them when I was considering going over to them, but decided to stick with standard teeth because I can just touch them up during the day with a angle grinder.

Yeh, I was wondering about that...

I've been saving my Greenteef up for simply ages now hoping to get them sharpened locally.

Seems the cut off point is around 100 teeth.

I'm sure as hell not grinding that poisonous lot in my shed!

The point about the nut wearing is a good one...I may just bin 'em all.
