I've just managed to get some free pallets to stack bulk bags of logs on for next season totally non standard size but all as new, at a guess i would say 750mm square, i'll try to find out what sort of quantity is normally held or get the guys phone number if your interested.

Thanks Phil

Looks like your sorted pallets are £3.50 Euro size, £2.50 non standard we could deliver to you for around £30 to cover time and fuel 50 at a time for that price. If you are stuck in the future PM me, all the best!

make them, you have a sawmill(if i remember right)you have the wood, stamp the blocks with your name, charge a refundable deposit (thats if time allows)

weve mended a few broken ones with our milled timber, but i think for £3.50 a pallet we will make them out of some conifer large trunks we kept, that we were going to mill as rough rails for the field.

(great minds think alike!)

Have you tried Lester Lowes outside Ashbourne for used ones? If you had the pallets returned from customers when delivering the next batch of firewood then worth making some good new ones. There is a place I know who make them and at good prices. We had some and were strong enough for gritstone lumps and have lasted a long time.

lester burns his to keep the barns warm, where he stores the cattle cake is his mega large waste burner - but thanks for hte heads up - know all the lads at lesters.

have you tried Edwin Lawtons, or the place up at Marchington (cant think of their name) they both make them, I know one of them gives the damaged ones away so may be worth a call

Mick Wright would make you some and at a reasonable price.

poor old micks got enough on his plate - some b** stealing his timber!

Rohan and mick were thinking of a stake out with a 12 bore , a few vicious dogs and a deep pit!
