Thought I would post pics of a wee modification I did to my vertical splitter, in case anyone is wanting to copy the idea.

 

It's a kinda dogleg idea, so if the blade gets jammed in a bad knot you just retract the ram all the way up to release it.

 

It's made up of 2 bits of 40mm angle, 2 bits of 25mm angle, and a piece of flat bar.

Still have to paint it!

Damn! That could be my yard, IBC cages and the same splitter! I've considered making a log wiper for it, a handy addition. How do you find the machine? I love mine!

Good idea, will look at making one for mine.

 

Have the same splitter, its been very reliable for me and i have had it for 2 years now. I have extended the chopping deck so i have more space to work when its attached to the tractor. But mainly i have it attached to a table made from a telegraph pole and railway sleepers.
