illness over the festive season

So, anybody else feeling rough through no fault of their own (or the bottle...)?

I was diagnosed with Scarlet Fever today, now on a 10 day course of antibiotics. Worst thing is that swollen tongue and throat means I can't eat much as it hurts too badly to do so, the itchy rash on my hands and face is following a very close second.

Apparently there is a hell of a lot of bacterial conditions about at the moment, backed up by the fact the first chemist I went to was run right out of my prescription!

I blame illness over christmas on the fact that we go shopping in big shops and shopping centres in high temperature and humid conditions with jostling crowds, with people sneezing and coughing everywhere.

If you work outside all day, mainly on your own IE processing firewood, you're not used to being exposed to such germy conditions.

A friend of mine is a farmer, every time he goes into town shopping (not often, thats what wife is for!) he comes back with a cold!
