Retreiving of the ropeguide primus

I have now used my new ropeguide primus quite a lot. It works excellent (!) when you want to retreive it with a rope (or throwline) tied in to the eye splice. It never gets stuck.

BUT (!) - if you whant to retreive it without having tied anything to the eye, it is almost impossible to pull the cocoon through the eye splice. Especially is the plastic ring has slided so the cocoon sling doesn't "rest" on the ring in the eye (see the last photo).

Does someone has an idea for improvement?!

Before... (I know it is obviously, but I had to write some image text... :001_tongue:)

Retreival with the ring still in place..

It is very hard to pull the cocoon through. You really have to "shake it" a lot.

Retreival where the ring has slided out of place...

It is almost impossible to pull the cocoon through.

What do you mean by a spliced alloy ring?

My old RopeGuide has an alluminum ring, which the pulley always comes through. But the ring gets cought a lot in branchunions, when you retreive it.

Can I see some pics of the new rg primus?!!! I am very interestet in seeing, how that extra ring works!!!!

I just got the new rg primus and its much better designed than the one in the above photos it has a cam instead of a prussic and it has the plastic ring with another plastic dome which when pulled together comes our of the rope splice very easy.

How much did that set you back, if you dont mind me asking?

It's hard to see the "extra" ring. Do you think you can upload some pics of your new wonder? There must be a way to "prime" my new ropeguide, so the cocoon pulley can slide through the eye splice without getting stuck.

It get stuck almost everytime you try to retreive without something attached to the eye.

Right you have the normal plastic where the splice sits around then you have a dome shaped plastic which slides into the open part of the plastic splice holder when you pull the RG they slide together and release very very easy.

Its very hard to explain ill try and get a pic up
