Thank you MAB, it was fun to do but birch is not my favourite kind off wood because you sometimes have big pieces that break out of it, so i had a lot of grinding to do

I'm not a carver so excuse my ignorance, but you seem to use the burnt aspect to great effect, gives it real contrast.

P.S .. notice you are in Belgium , wife and i been there a couple of times just touring about seeing where we end up. We were in France aswell but hated it and couldn't wait to get back to Belgium, great place.:thumbup1:

That is correct, i do use it to create the shadow effect, when you take the time for it it works out well.

Belgium is a nice place to visit but it's not all fun and games when you live here, it also has it's downs, just like any place on the planet i guess, hehe

Hallo Caveman, ik woon in tielt in west-vlaanderen

@ Red : it took me about 3 hours in total ( sawing, grinding and finishing ), i used the outside from the birch so the core is gone, i had the piece about 5 month's, still alot of moisture in it
