Well im in Manly northern beaches Australia, its beautiful here good life work balance, trees are massive and i work with some of the best climbers i have met in 12 yrs of arb work

Working abroad is always cool, but climbing in the rain forest is hard to beat.

 

For play I think you would find it hard to top anywhere in Latin America during carnival week.

Gibbon what where you doing out in s america, Research work? I'd love to climb some of the emergent trees in a rainforest.

I was there for 2 years but not always doing tree work. I was building zip wire canopy tours, hanging temporary research platforms and taking small groups of tourists tree climbing. Was mainly Costa Rica but got to go to panama, Colombia and Nicaragua too.

How did that come about gibbon? Sounds amazing! A mate of mine did a bit in borneo researching ant colonies in emergent trees, How do you get that kind of work? Was it with CAL by any chance as they're only people i can seem to find who do canopy access.

No mate, I was working on privately organised projects.

Kauri climbing for kicks in Auckland NZ was alot of fun surrounded by some amazing vegetation,once up in the canopy i could of stayed their for weeks,so much going on within one monster canopy.

 

 

 

 

and working in NZ was pretty much good fun 99% of the time for 7 years but its tough long days out their most of the week but i loved it.
