Saw this today but can't figure it out. The buds are quite distinctive and the leaves are 10 x 9 cm so pretty big. Didn't have a camera at the time so could only snap a bit of branch off.

Any chance of a better picture? Doesn't look like Paulownia sp. Where did you find it? Normal street tree? Park? specialist garden/arboretum?

Just a stab in the dark - Thinking along the large leaf sorta line. Populus lasiocarpa - Necklace poplar.. Lovely large leaved poplar completely unlike our native.

That's the only picture I can do, sorry. The tree is in a front garden and has been pollarded a couple of years ago.

 

I was asked to go round and price up

to remove a Eucalyptus by a consultant!
