They really are awful to drive as well, I used to do a lot of work on the festival circuit and we'd get a defender on hire for the time onsite but if it was a big event then the odd Santana would pop up. I had one for two weeks and it was just awful, ride, handling, suspension, can't believe I'm saying this but fell to pieces worse than a defender does normally!!

They have more in common with a series 3 than a Defender...

Leaf springs [albeit parabolics] are the main difference... Iveco engine is allegedly very good. Interior is a matter of taste, a bit LDV for my liking... as is exterior styling.

Build quality as mentioned is a bit hit and miss.

They are cheap though....

i had one for over a year i well abused it as it was still on warrenty was fab i boke door handles mirrors did the clutch in freeing a stuck to the axle self drven mewp and all was done pick the motor up from me for free on the warrenty parts can be esay got from iveco for engine and theres a main delers for santana in norwich its aslo a iveco main dealer good motor wish i still had it now and will do a easy 28mpg if not more
