I disagree about ragging the hell out of it straight away I always run them in on Stihl red for 3 tanks... Spuds looked inside two of my oldest saws that have done a hell of a lot of work and he tells me they are good , one is a 357 that's 6 years old used daily and that was the first saw I ran in proper... Used to get 12 months out of saws previously so there you go .... Some one will always say different but if it was not important then why put it in the operators hand book.

Yup - 160psi on the 357, can't remember the 372 comp but think there were still machining marks on the piston - that is always a good sign - no problems there.

How is that flippin 357 running - is the carb still behaving....what a job:001_rolleyes:

Thanks for the replies gentlepeople. I live in the sticks and only have a shell petrol station so no worries there. Is this ok, Oils and Lubricants | Husqvarna Two-Stroke oil - Willis and Grabham ?

I have the stihl full system and I see the chain oil doesn't fit, bit of a bummer.

buy the normal oil spout for the can instead of the quick fill system

..
