i have recently purchased a kwikchip 160 euroline chipper, and was wondering if anyone has one or knows about them....if you take a look at the picture does anyone know which position the lever needs to be in and what it actually does? i know it puts tension on the belts but if i was going to start the chipper and run it does the lever need to be down or up? it migh sound dumb but better to be safe then sorry!

sorry picture is abit naff.

any help would be appreciated :thumbup1:

sorry about the late reply... yes thats what i thought but id like to know for defos before i start to use it more often! anyone alse have any ideas??

if u pull the lever back towards the tow hitch ,it will lift the engine ,thus taking the weight of the belts ,start it up let the engine wrm up then slowley lower the levr back ,u may need to re lift & lower a couple of times till it get the fly wheel running ,& if yor chipping sapy wood ,the sap will stick to the fly wheel & drum over nite & will need freing before it will run or u will keep stalling the engine

ok cheers for the info, but do you leave the leaver in the tension position when you come to turn the engine off or turn the engine off then take the tension off of the belts?
