TRADITIONAL LOGGERS

I need a reliable source for freight shipping between Denmark and England. (nearest sea ports to me are Immingham and Harwich. In Denmark it is Esbjerg Havn)

The item weighs around 1000KG. Length is 3.4M. Width is 2.6M Height is 1.5M and can be loaded in Denmark for free and off loaded back in the UK also for free.

I have a slight problem :001_rolleyes: Sensible ideas welcome.

Received several prices but the width is 2.6M (small section of steel) and the freight will not be safe to be shipped standing upright/facing downwards (some lateral thinking I did which would reduce width to 1.5M)

Haulage firms said vehicle widths are between 2.400M and 2.550M but some foreign trucks have board sides below the canvas. In Denmark no transport issues at all and into Sweden so cannot understand the reason across the sea on a large freight vessel.

Looks like I will have to collect direct and have some nice Danish food and booze.:laugh1:

If you want to pick it up yourself I have a flat trailer you could borrow on a standard 50mm ball and the flat deck is 6mtrs x 2.5mtrs (can easily be extended to 2.6 mtrs). Ask nicely at the shipping companies and some RoRo ships have a limited number of cabins for drivers but they dont advertise as there not licensed as passenger ferries.
