there saying 21-22x diameter, i go for 25x ( its just easier to do the maths in my head that way doing multiple differnt ropes all day). same for short fid-i use 10x dia they say 1/3 of long fid. this makes my fids longer but i do a finer taper to make up for it-does that make sense?

 

I think your system is far easier to remember too :biggrin:

So after all the questions I've asked of this thread and others, here it is, my first double braid splice also in 12mm Imori :) All went smoothly until it came to burying everything which I think I took a bit too quickly as it all got really tight and took a fair bit of pulling and milking and smoothing out but it there eventually!! You might be able to see from the photo it's still pretty tight around the throat so I'm going to sit and manipulate it to try and loosen it up before I whip it :)
