Havent read it yet but the front cover is interesting - there is no way I work with another person in the bucket/basket even with that wire partition.

Especailly on a calm day when they have had a curry the night before, there's just no means of escape.

Why would you want two in the basket anyway, does he need his hand holding?

I reckon its cause he doesnt know how to use the controls so the other guy on the right has to go up with him, there in lies the problem. If you cant operate a MEWP you shouldn't be using it for work positioning, especially during rigging operations where work positioning is critical.

Dont know what the guide says, but in my humble opinion MEWPS should only be used for rigging operations by experienced climbers .

I,ve worked two in a bucket over roads and such...cut and hold....plain bloody stupid frankly...never again!

Presumably, a ticket is required?

IPAF is in muddle frankly. although commercial arboriculture is not the only industry sector, the sheer " choice " ( for want of a better word ) as to the type of ticket obtainable is just "out there! "

It would be an interesting read maybe if its been designed for the industry but the legislation which preceeds it can only dictate the terms applicable , however misguided that may be in your opinion!!

Having two in the basket can be really useful. I have worked with a really good mewp operator, in an Aerial platform with a big 2 man basket, and he puts it where you want it without having to ask, leaving you to just cut cut cut.

And he'll hold a piece while you cut it,which can be very handy.

I've never like people holding onto pieces of timber while your cutting them. Its like something people used to do in 1958 before they realised chainsaws were dangerous.

I've flown 2 in a basket a few times, normally me and the boss. i'm better at operating them but we are both good at cutting. Normally i fly solo though
