We discovered this fruiting body on a cherry a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying to ID it from quite a few books, can't seem to spot it.

Any ideas guys?

Nick

What do you mean my bruising? When I push the spore tubes inwards they do not retract. Is this what you mean?

Nick,

No, the pores turn reddish brown when you bruise them or scratch them with your fingernails.

If anything they have gone a very slight pink, definately not redish brown after scratching it.

Are there any other possibilities, or do you think its Daedaleopsis confragosa?

Thanks,

Nick

Nick,

1. That's probably, because it's on older FB already starting to dry out.

2. Just as David suggested, yes, I do.
