Is this Honey Fungus?

Out for a walk and spotted this:

 

 

 

 

 

Its on one of my favorite trees.

 

A big ash in the field behind my house.

 

To my totally untrained eye it looked a bit Honey Fungus like.

 

Then again I couldn't find any Honey Fungus pictures quite the same.

 

What do you reckon?

Have a look at Pholiota squarossum, I think you'll have a match. Dark pic on my phone... Kinda hard to tell.

Also looks to be pretty benign? The tree appears healthy.

 

I think it is an old hedge row tree and has swallowed the stone base of the hedge as its grown.

it is relatively benign, but as with all root decay fungi...

 

in this situation and certainly on ash not so much to worry about, quite common on ash and beech
