How to preserve dead oak tree?

You need to get some good quality wood preservative, the sort you would use on sheds and fences, paint or spray it on the whole of the stump.

You will need to reapply at least once per year.

ive seen dead oaks stay and are still standing after been dead for 20+ years why put more crap on it to preserve when a 20 +year old replacment will be well on its way and you will still probably have a standing monolith next to it...
