they look like they are designed to be anti slip. They actually look like they'd be pretty confortable, if not slightly cumbersome! I must admit i'm not always good for putting my chainbreak on when the saws running, but not when its attached to my waist

Interesting. The shoulder belt holding the saw just below the hip line appears to work although I to would be concerned about the chain break issue as well. The climbing spikes looked like strap overs for mountain climbing with a high heel lift?. Would like to see this in use with other types of trees for sure.

i think they are designed (as above) anti-slip icy conditions, they also look like they would be more comfortable over a 8hr period.

 

i think the shoulder strap is for ease of use and keeping it all tight, he looks good at his job so use of chain brake would be different to him.

 

on the cs32 - the chainbrake gets a back shelf on some cuts - so pace and speed is not compromised.

 

Which cuts? Not on my 32.

Central....im specifically referring to stowing the saw round his waist without putting the chainbreak on. I'm sure most people here at some time have had their saw start to rev up, could be a little bit of twig stuck somewhere, or even that last gasp as the saw runs out of fuel and the chain starts to creep round.

interesting spikes, the over the shoulder thing is nothing new, i have done it with big saws and a pole pruner strap, but it just gets in the way and the your reach is compromised.

as far as chain break, yikes!
