Norfolk Woods

I am off on hols shortly to North Norfolk. Want to have a wander round some woods, look at a few trees, pick some sweet chestnuts etc etc. Any suggestions? (I am familiar with Holkham, Fellbrigg and Blickling)

I've just come back from there. Really good time. Went to Holkam beach most of the time. The estate is quite nice to walk around, loads of trees and wildlife etc.

Sherringham Park, Whitlingham Woods.

Ty Sheringham Park (National Trust) not far from Felbrigg and got some interesting stuff.

bacton woods/ witton woods. pretty nice there!

Thursford woods owned by the wildlife trust has some of the best veteran trees in norfolk. Definitately worth a nose about.

Second on Bacton woods - best woodland I have been to in a while was on the Isle of Wight - ancient Oak woodland - not seen woods like that for a while and also saw red squirrels:thumbup:

sandringhams royal estate is worth a look big trees in there all different species you could want aswell
