You will need to find a centre that will take you on. But you will probably need to get a few more years experiance. Then you need to do the technical evaluation and the three day verifiers course. Once you have that you need to assessed assessing 3-4 times.

It will cost about £2000

I might have an assessment centre that would take me on but they said i will be an assistant and wont be as hand's on as i am now. I am thinking of completing my UA1 and UA2 and then moving on from there. I think that moving to australia will provide me with experience within this industry and it will help me gain some australia

How many year's does it take to become a NPTC assessor and with LANTRA do you have to complete refresher courses every 2-4 years. I work with a Instructor all the time and he said that he only done this for 2 year's and then got a job as an instructor and he is in the process of becoming an assessor

Its a mine field mate, I instruct in mainly UA 1,2.1,2.2, 2.3 CS38,39,MEWP CS47

I am not a LANTRA instuctor, have looked at the criteria but actually never got round to getting my backside together to sort it out. Cant say my way is the best but I get a steady stream of work plus my own freelancing on ua Contracts.

If you have the money get it done now dont do as i have in past leave and leave it especially if your self employed something always gobbles the funds.

As for assessor on nptc "good luck" from what i understand you can go through all the rigmorole and still be put on a waiting list, but dont take my word for it.

my opinion the instructor side is far better than the assessor side for enjoyment.

I have worked as instructor in the electrical side of the arb and inspection industry for quite a few years, written several work books for the inspection side of electrical work, what Im trying to get at is you need to be fully committed to the cause, because sometimes you will go home feeling that you have got no where with students for the day, other days you will go home richer with knowledge you and your students have swapped.

Good luck in your quest:thumbup1:

I am committed am at the stage where i need to start thinking about next moves in life what to do now, i am thinking about either 2 thing's start me own business or move abroad an come back in a few year's and have a good go at becoming an instructor. I am currently working for various companies and also got my own work which is bringing in a steady stream but am at the stage where i need to start making my own move's my next move is going to be were il do it for the next couple of year's.

Regarding the instructor i think i would enjoy it but it's getting them kids that who reck your head and you feel the urge to just smack him over the head and say just go away. My friend who i work with says youve gotta take the good with the bad and he asked me could i cope with the stress and also the moaning and stuff.

I do intend to undertake as many as my licenses as i think would be beneficial and am half way there but atm am in a bit of predicament on what move should i make next weather to go for being me own boss or to move abroad and come back and have a crack at instructing.
