We did a job in a field today, not very visible to the road as it is in quite a steep hollow. I was in my landy 130 tipper and monkeysteve was in his navarra, bot with off road tyres, the road is at the top of a15 meter bank. We stacked the timber at the bottom of the tree in neat stacks. We had done what was asked so went home. I never saw the client before we left as she was out. I got a call off the lady later asking where the wood was?? I said stacked up around the trees? She then went in to explain that someone has been in and

Nicked some? I went up and someone has taken about 2 cube of wood, either carried up to the road or in a 4x4?!! I couldn't believe it, they left the sycamore and took the old Manky horsechestnut!! Mental!!

I did a job taking down two limes about 3 tonne of timber. Left it stacked on the drive for the client. He went away for the weekend and when he came back it was gone. Not only had it gone they had swept up where the logs were.

Know the feeling. Last year I ringed up a windblown horse chestnut for a friend in some private woodland near a lane on the understanding I could have it (it was easy work!) as well as a load of nearby ash. Went to fetch it and found two gentlemen almost stepping over the ash to grab the h/c for the back of their Trannie van.

I kept a straight face and politely explained that it wasn't theirs to take but that they could keep the dozen or so rings they already had.

Thanks for shifting it guys.
