Tyres would not have made a haporth of difference. nor chains, or even ecotrax. once I went through the crust of that bog it was end of story. I had to dozer in a road of crushed stone just to get the excavator in.

 

I ran a stalwart into a bog, we had to dig air channels under the belly to get rid of the suction.

it was deep enough that I could'nt open the cab door.

I think it was at the point where the door would'nt open...

 

I should have guessed the little valley with the rushes growing was going to be soft underneath:sad:

Just very lucky I had the track machine on the same job - Although as Pete knows, there's a story to the recovery also:001_smile:
