one of the stereums, possibly hirsutum, saprophyte, indicates death of cambium.

 

Bleeding red when scratched with a fingernail ? If so, Stereum rugosum. Not changing colour when bruised or scratched ? If so, S. hirsutum.

Do you know what the effects of this are, specific to the eucalyptus?

 

There are no effects specific to Eucalytus, as this is a generalistic saprotrophic pioneer species decomposing bark and cambium died of other causes.

looks like the tree is leaning? if so there is more pressure put on the compression side? And with death of cambium will this weaken the wood at the tensile side (where fungi is?) ?

 

Would it be a reduction to counteract the above for a while (to retain for a little longer) but it will probabily have to be removed at some point? depending on safety risk?
