Hi all.

As a newbie to the tree world i feel i should carry out some form of training on how things should be done. Feel confident using chainsaw but a form of formal training and a certificate wouldnt go amiss! Any run in Leicestershire?

Hi jim your way forward is through NPTC training do your 30/31 to start with then if you can get in with a local company as a groundy for a few months this will help you no end and get your foot well on the ladder .

When purchasing a new chain saw here in the states Sthil at one time had a video showing how their model chain saw worked. It was very informative. Any dealer worth their weight at this time should show the new owner all features of any brand saw and allow to test on site with at least a log to cut thru. Additional formal training is always a

plus.
