What make swing lift is that? The ones i have seen have a fixed arm length so i ruled hem out of this sort of use. What weigh will it lift fully extended?

It looks like a Lucas, but it could be a penny.

Looks good mike.

 

Personally i wouldn't bother with the centre leg as i can't see the pressed steel clamp holding upto much weight.

 

Do you think it will be able to lift a builders bag of logs onto the trailer?

I find when lifting bags with the 4 loops on a single hook, they tend to stretch and elongate so you need more height to lift them.

 

Got my eyes out looking for one of these cranes now to copy your idea! Doubt i'll find one for the same price though! :sneaky2:

Not sure about the builders bags, it would if the crane was on the bed but where I've mounted it I think it'd catch on the trailer. I'm actually thinking of adding a hydraulic ram like on the engine cranes so I can raise the arm when it's got a load on.

 

Where are you based mate? The guy who I bought this off may get some more he's from dewsbury if that's any help.
