Recommend me some loppers

I've always found bypass to be far more robust as when anvil ones are being abused the blade can twist and miss the anvil.

 

I'm using a stihl set at the moment that aren't telescopic and were £40, and seem good so far.

 

As for the finished cut , I've always found it pretty rubbish really unless there brand new and only really use them for topping hedges rather than proper pruning work.

 

I'm not talking about telescopic pruners like the ones above but two handled loppers for closer work by the way

yea i'd second that kev7937 - anvil best. Got a pair of chunky bahco's that leave the worst bark tears since the flail. i also use loppers for hedgelaying or on leylandii. I think 'orchard loppers' leave the neatest cut - had an old bahco pair once very tidy cut - lost them in a devon hedge. arse. anyone got a good way of taking loppers aloft - they always seem to open up and look like they want to cut something i might need
