Getting things together now.

 

Got a new winch handle and a square peice of aluminium plate 16mm thick for the winch backplate.

 

Does anyone know the thickness of the mild steel plate for the Fixing bracket what which is strapped to the tree what the winch slots into.

 

It's looking about 10mm to me

Will do Bob, I'll get in touch when work settles down a bit, it's manic at the mo

 

Dean theres a company in Rochdale that makes straps that is not far from you.I think its called Beweb but not sure they seem to be happy to help with tree surgeons.

 

Cheers for that, I want the tommy bar ratchet strap tensioner so will check them out.
