Hi, can i please have your opinions on the Subaru forester car. Trying to make my mind about a 'new' car for next year. Would be looking at about 54 / 55 plate models. Would be used for towing small caravan, dogs, farm tracks, etc. How do they compare to bigger 4x4's (which i dont really need).

I've heard lots of positve things about them, but would value any feed back, good or bad.

Thanks.:001_smile:

good ground clearance i was impressed once when we were visited on site by a guy who parked his in the ditch as it was a very narrow road, i thought to myself hes gonna need towed out of there, he just jumped in an it pulled its self out and away no problem!

I have a 1998 model, been in family since 2000. As mentioned before it's a bit thirsty but very relible. For past 5 years or so has gone through MOT with no issues at all. Not in use every day but so handy - would recommend car.

very very good reliable cars , they have a good ground clearence and in comparison to the likes of a volvo cross country or the equivelent audi you will find the subaru very good value for money , i currently have an impreza as a fun car but if i needed a 4x4 estate then i would be jumping at the forrester

My father in law has an 03 one and has had it from new. He has literally knocked the hell out of it, there isn't a straight panel on it and its service history will be in frequent at it's best. He has used it for towing all sorts, carried the dogs shooting, off roaded the wheels off it and it keeps coming back for more.

It won't be worth much to sell on but everything still works and it keeps coming back for more. It is as good as a disco, trooper, etc but is no Defender.
