Worried

Chances are, no one will steal the van, it's the contents they're after.

This sounds daft at first but sometimes the best policy is to leave NOTHING inside and leave all doors unlocked.

That way thieves won't damage locks and doors getting in.

I know insurance companies won't wear that outlook but if it's not been stolen or damaged then there's no insurance claim.:thumbup1:

I would not be so worried about the van itself, but make sure to never leave any tools in it, unless you have armoured windows?

yeah ive got those punched steel sheets on the windows just for when we are on site. but everything comes out on a night and goes in the garage inside 3 steel boxes bolted to the floor

insure it for more than its worth:thumbup:. them battery cut off switches are ok most of the time but don't allow enough current through them, not what you want in a hard to start diesel at -20c when you're late for work:thumbdown:, you could install a flick on/off switch into the trigger wire circuit but again thats easy to bypass at the starter motor end for any thief willing to crawl underneath. you could go the whole hog but don't forget to fit decent door locks or they will just walk right in..

Put a small piece of 4x2 on the seat with a 9" nail in it with a empty pillow case over the top, they will get a nasty sting in the back side when they jump in

Just imagine coming down in the morning to find some one stuck there on the nails:001_huh: I'd call it an occupational hazard of being scum, but I don’t think the courts would see it the same way unless you could prove plausible deniability, that you either didn’t put it there or it was accidently left there, as a bi product of your work.
