I really wanted to do the Tech cert but now that it's been revised to a level 4 and the price has gone up to well above £3k, I'm not sure that I can afford the money or the massive amounts of out-of-class study time. I could get in an awful lot of short courses/seminars for that kind of money. Interested to hear opinions tho.

it did sound very expensive to me to!! it is what it is tho I suppose, as long as the course intent and knowledge I gain from it justifies the money then I will be happy.

maybe try get an employer to put up some of the cost and then regain the VAT if you haven't already tried that??
