Had a new knife for my birthday so made a couple of spoons today from a bit of Hazel

 

Top tip, when doing this for the first time keep some clean water and a box of plasters handy:001_cool:.

You can get a thumb protector made out of leather, a mate of mine has one as he almost sliced half his thumb off the only thing that held it together was his nail.

One of my hook knives is double edged, am thinking of grinding it down to a single, much safer.

Just cant put them down, made the knife, fork and spoon from an Ash log and the spatula from Hazel. Spatula works, cooked some bacon and egg and tested it, not to sure about the knife and fork though.

Found a supplier about a year ago that was well under the average sale price.

They are the ones but I think they got them from the Land Rover show at Billing.
