Another pick up question! Ive looked through threads but cant seem to find a proper answer. I'm thinking of buying a navara but I know a lot were plagued with engine problems can't afford brand new but dont want an old one. My uncle had a 56 reg that went bang and seen a few that age nakered on eBay so what age is the best to buy did they change in 07 or later? I also like the Denver think I was told the 2.5 is the best?

The D22 Navaras that went up to 2005 i think were the ones with engine problems. Much better work horse than the newer D40s.

The D40s from 2005-6 onwards have a few problems too mainly cutch based. Upto 56 plate some 07 had euro 3 engines which are much better at fuel enconomy. The 07 onwards have euro 4 engines which aren't so good on the fuel. I think the 08 plates onwards were a bit better on fuel.

Its a bit of a mine field but from 07 onwards the engine will be ok. Might need a new clutch though.
