Does anyone know what it burns like, in relation to other softwoods, larch for example?

Theres 150 acres of the stuff, just wanting to know if there may be a bit more money for firewood rather than pulp.

It makes brilliant chipwood for biomass as Skyhuck mentioned..

 

The mills will take it for sleeper cuts occasionally but not if the timber has any drought cracking.

 

Essentially they are a weed and the timber is absolutley crap for making anything sensible out of!

Have you got the job to fell the silver fir??
