My dads into bonsai in a serious way. Its got to be Azelea. Have u seen it flower?

 

Not yet.

 

Look close at the picture of the foliage, there are spines on the leaves very similar in design to other ilex species.

Turns out my dad doesn't think its azalea, looks quite similar though. I've got another sugestion but I can remember scientific or common just got an image in my mind. Ill be back! :-D

I reckon it's Serissa foetida, or Tree of a Thousand Stars. It's one of the most popular species for indoor bonsai. Try bruising a leaf and sniffing it. If it smells fetid, that's what it is.
