High David. The college is merrist wood. Can't remember what the spec was exactly. It was part of out year 2 practical assessment. The tree was full of dead wood and and I guess the reason for the reduction was to balance the crown and reduce weight from certain branches. I think the tree was over run with a fungi but can't remember for the life of me what. When doing the coronets I seem to remember 2 of our lecturers bickering between themselves. One saying it was pointless and that due to the trees location, the branches would have to be removed in the near future anyways. And the other saying it was good practice and that it have us a chance to have a go at it.
