first aid kit is on my helmet ( around the adjuster band ( makes a nice pillow ) that way i have a f/aid kit on me all day no need for one in the pocket

have a small sling and a medium one in my pockets if i require a: rescue or b: a foothold on a slimy smooth stem .

then just standrd biners a prussik loop used for kleimheist and tool strop (machine mart

rescue knife is in form of secauteurs (sp) but i dont always carry them

Surely it's better, ergonomically for the groundy to pull the saw up. much easier for him to pull a rope down than for you to pull a rope up. Depends on how busy the groudies' jobs are, of course.

 

I think I was trained to be a climber's bitch, as I did an apprenticeship. Fine with me.

well its got a figure of 8 taped up on the end of the line wich every day i check, and i have not had one slipout in 8 years.to be honest i prefere it to other grabs as its light wieght ,smaller ,cheaper and i dont mind chucking it when the cams slightly worn.

i dont think its meant to be used for primary life support mate....i'd re-think that personally if i were you!

like ive said ive not had one slip out and backed with a taped up figure of 8 but thats maybe why i dont trust it entirely and the fact its so basic is why i have stuck with it....i dunno thats why i come here to better my climbing so what would be a good trustable solution to my working lanyard?.........

dont want to send this thread offline i only have a metal landyard with a positioner do most people have a rope one as well

yeah i spose...i mostly only take the rope one up a tree for a work positioner to back up my life line.

My metal one stays in the truck unless i use it for a primary life line when spiking or felling.dunno what other people do?

matty; use a Vt (or similar) and pulley on it. You'll see a world of difference, I promise.

no friction hitches on my lanyard mate i would not find the vt suitable as you have to watch it locking ........any way i would rather have my trusty ropeman but bullmans got a point its a little on the flimsey side........might try one of those cinch lanyard adjusters any one using one?
