Hi as title suggests my 395 doesn't seem to lubricate the bar properly plus it hardly uses much oil, its rarely even half empty per full fuel tank, its only a year old and hasn't had excessive use at all.

any explanations?

Cheers, Matt

ps. tryed the usual adjusting pump but doesn't seem to make much difference, cuts fine tho...

what size bar do you run on her,24"-30" i would have the pump wound up to near max, especially in hard wood, keep an eye on the chain to see if its getting enough oil, wen im ringing up ash, never looks like enough oil is getting to where its sposed to be,set the pump tank for tank ih hardwood

I'll second the petrol in the oil tank. Had the same problem with a 346xp, Bob stripped everything down and cleaned it, also swapped parts with another one but it still didn't work. Then i just emptied oil tank, stuck a little petrol in it, ran it for a wee while and it sorted it out good and propper. Must be the little filter in the tank!

brought an old 266XP that didn't supply much oil to the bar, suspected the oil pickup non-return valve cleaned all the bits, including pump piston and spring etc in solvent and reassembled - now works fine, on max will empty oil and fuel at the same time.:thumbup1:
