Hello,

I've just bought my first chainsaw and although I've used chainsaws in the past I'd like some basic training. I don't intend on becoming a tree surgeon or anything like that it's just for my own home use. Is there someone local to me (Tayside Scotland) that could give me a few pointers?

Thanks.

Google nptc cs30/31 training in your area no need for assessment if your not working in the industry! But at least a day with a good saw user will make you alot safer! If in doubt get professional help! Saws aren't to be toys :D

Good to see someone outside the industry want training! Makes a change from the idiots you see on YouTube haha!

Good luck and safe cutting! Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, I'll do that. Funny you should mention idiots on youtube. I was just watching "the strongest redneck" cutting his hedge with a chainsaw on a rope. I suspect he doesn't actually have the chain on it though.

Definatley has chain on you can see it turning at the start of the video.

This did make me chuckle as did the lawnmower on a stick!
