I would never ring another tree surgeon to say by the way i got one of your jobs. That would piss any tree surgeon off period.

 

We all win and loose jobs year in year out part and parcel.:sneaky2:

 

That thought had crossed my mind aswell. See told you all it's a bit of a quandry!!!!!!!!!!!

He might be nice as pie on the phone then break the speed limit racing down there to offer a better price. haha. or maybe not, but defo do the job before ringing him, i mean what are you expecting? his permission to earn money? dont degrade yourself.

But after the jobs done then by all means ring for a chit chat, see how he is doing then drop it on him that you robbed 10 grand out of his kids inheritence fund hahaha

if you thought that was a possiblity I doubt we would be discussing this ,however if you think that is an option

 

a slight variation imo

Get a written acceptance of your quote

including a cavat re cancelation by the client You (should build that into your job quote / acceptance profile anyway )

 

then ring if your still that way minded
