Poorly monkey puzzle

Has roughly 30% dieback mainly in the lower branches. It has also been block paved in completely sometime in last 5 yrs. Also has large amounts of sap coming from every previous pruning wound. Bark lesions raised looking similar to a canker exuding lots of resin any suggestions welcome. Customer does not want to lift paving/drive up. Also would the wood be any good to mill? we took one down in a cemetery about 18 months ago which was suffering from something similar . Tommr9 came bown and had the last 15 foot for planking, the timber has an amazing grain and looks really nice when used

The only dead 1 I took down had mysteriously died after developers put a pavement and road over it's roots, the sap wood goes very spongy so don't rely on a felling bar if you have to get some wedges in there instead if it's getting felled.

thanks for the advice. its in a CA so will be interesting to see how much its declined in a month. Advised client to put in the application to fell and re-inspect when paperwork comes through.

looks like extensive soil compaction, maybe some minor borer damage to trunk. These trees are really tough other than a lighting strike or serious damage to root system could kill one of these bad boys off. I have one growing next door tomy home and the Bald eagles and Great Horned Owls love the height.

I've seen a few of these curl their toes up after new driveways/paving etc has been put down over their root area or near it..they don't like it!
