Sadly, Jon, not so! Ignoring "edge effect", there should be no difference. Smaller logs pack tighter, but they're also smaller so there are more air gaps.

 

You can check it by taking a bag of big logs and chopping them small: you'll find they're still exactly one bag full!

 

(Yes, I'm sad, I know - I enjoyed maths at school!)

I made a point of ringing those people with storage over the summer and stocking them up for a bit cheaper but the phone at the moment is the same as last year when I didn't.

 

Got the burner going now as Mrs was complaining!

Sales of wood burning stoves are still increasing for 4-5th year in a row, friend who has a stove shop says they are crazy busy, so watch out, think it is going to be another very busy winter!

Im doing 4 cube per week at the moment so i agree i think its gona be a buy few months ahead, log splitter's gone get a hammering!
