You're not a million miles away from me. I'm in Cumbria.

I don't turn over hundreds of tonnes like a lot of people on here. I sell at £80 per m3.

Thats good, around here I'm struggling to get £70 for H/W logs this winter as so many have jumped on the bandwagon after last years Big Freeze, and selling it much cheaper. I cant do that as my timber was bought in and road side prices + Haulage means less than £70m is least I'll sell for. S/W going out at £50m, all is under cover and is 20%(SW)-25-28% H/W.

Fylde coast way north of Preston south of Lancaster. Tbh I couldn't sell it any high than that people just wouldn't buy it!!! My parents have sold seasoned hardwood in the Scottish borders for50 a cube for years people just won't pay more than 60ish up there. I can't believe how some of you guys down south move hundreds of tons at upto 100 a cube!!!??? How do you do it???

Until you go South West! Then it all goes downhill again! Heard today about a bloke who is collecting old wooden furniture, smashing it up in his garage and selling 6m3 of splinters a day and the punters are loving it!

It my first year doing logs as well. Have about 70 cm3 of seasoned larch to move and I'm not shifting nowhere near enough. I'm selling it at £45 a cm3 and there are the traveling kind going round door to door selling tranny tipper loads for £80 wet through as the only parked up at road side hopped into a farmers wood and felled random trees a few hours before. And some people are worried about upstarts undercutting them lol it don't matter if you fell extract process everything yourself and run your motors on bio diesel your still not gonna compete with people that are outright stealing their timber!!! They need flogging with a sock full of hot crap and the customers that buy it too!!

you have highlighted and are the problem for the rest of us.

forget logs. or are you a proper farmer and love working for nowt.

iam at 59 a builders bag 0.6m3, equals 98/m3. 16% moisture.

certainlywood at 146/1.2m3 121/m3 at 20% moisture

soooo builders bag deliverd should be 75.6/bag

i will increase price in new year when we get some real snow to 65.

loads of tree surgeon around me selling for 30..

fools for selling and fools buying.

but eh oh,,,,,,,,,

costs of living are worlds apart from north to south, east to west, we sell at £100-120 per cube, we make money from it but its certainly not going to allow us early retirement!!!!!!!!! you've only got to look at the differance's in property values around the country, whilst you would love to sell at £120 per cube i too would love to buy a 3 bedroom detached house for less than £375000!!!!! apparantly its all 'relative' !!!!!!!:confused1:

I could have the odd bit of softwood but considering you put the same amount of time in but have to sell it for less and no one seems to want it I don't bother. Just gets thrown on a fire on the rare occasion I have one to get rid of.
