This tree is not doign too well, overpruned and on the edge of a lawn with small wall down to lower level behind it so not much water.

 

What leaves there are are a bit shrivelled so you cant see the full shape, but they are redish in colour. Any ideas??

Any ideas on what - the spp or what's wrong with it?

just removed catalpa of similar size and condition 4m away from a perfectly healthy one. no obvious reason for its decline i did suggest pollard and reassess next yr. i wondered if the cold winter had contributed?
