Hello Chaps,

 

i like the Knut but also use a very similar variation called the Happy!!

 

The one difference is in the lowest turn of the hitch... i'll see if i can find a camera! This makes the knot slightly looser and hence faster and quicker to self belay... IMO

 

Used for climbing ops only I tend to mess around with the amount of turns on both the Knut and Happy depending on length of cord and all the other variables (like do I want to be able to plummet or saunter down!)

 

I think I have attached some Pics but i am a newbie to Arbtalk and a luddite too!

 

1st pic shows the Happy

2nd pic the Knut (sporting one less turn than shown in the other pics)

 

In the pics are:

Rope is Tachyon (11.5mm) Prussik is grizzly spliced beeline (8mm by 24cm)

Saftey is no accident matt :001_smile:,Tried it today but need shorter prussic.

 

Gd gd bro, very true statement. Just put another wrap on first and try that before getting another prussik length might work out sweet ay.

Is this pretty much like the VT? I've turned into a right fashion climber with my lockjack so dont use knots that often, but interested, can you use this on non return systems for pulling lines?
