Hello Chaps,

 

i like the Knut but also use a very similar variation called the Happy!!

 

The one difference is in the lowest turn of the hitch... i'll see if i can find a camera! This makes the knot slightly looser and hence faster and quicker to self belay... IMO

 

Used for climbing ops only I tend to mess around with the amount of turns on both the Knut and Happy depending on length of cord and all the other variables (like do I want to be able to plummet or saunter down!)

 

I think I have attached some Pics but i am a newbie to Arbtalk and a luddite too!

 

1st pic shows the Happy

2nd pic the Knut (sporting one less turn than shown in the other pics)

 

In the pics are:

Rope is Tachyon (11.5mm) Prussik is grizzly spliced beeline (8mm by 24cm)
