I think it depends on location. In our area lots of people burn what ever is cheapest. In a more urban area people who have natural gas as well as a log burner may still buy logs because they like to have a fire going. It is almost impossible to estimate the size of the UK market due to all the variables and the often informal nature of the supply system.

now every one is BSL registered, and hetas woodsure,

it only needs insurance company's to require approved fuel and bingo the markets sewn-up.

win for consumer, burning better fuel,

win for regulators

win for number crunchers.

Becoming WoodSure+ Plus accreddited & BSL registered was the best thing I have done. Sales of Woodfuel (firewood, pellets, kindling, briquette) has increased by approx 30% yr on yr for the last 3 years.

As I carry out woodland management, I don't need to purchase timber.
