Yesterday a mate and I gt to test fire the new Sauer semiautomatic Rifle.

The Rifle we were lent was chambered in 30/06 and during the course of the day we fired a few over 200 rounds. We both came away highly impressed with the Rifle.

Sauer has managed to build a Rifle with a High level of Accuracy and reliability pushing this semi auto into a leauge only previously occupied by High Quality Bolt Action Rifles. With off the shelf factory ammo, the Rifle consistantly shot sub MOA.

.Also they have managed some of the safety issues that arise when using a semi auto in the Feild, for example you can cycle the action without cocking the striker, when game is spotted you manually cock the striker using a switch on the back of the action.

The Rifle retails for around £2000,the Scope and Mounts £1600 more.

the blasers are about the fastest actions that were alowed, is there much advantage with semi auto in centre fire or not?

Yes.

For game on the Run,or Multiple Targets you cannot beat a Semi Auto.

Typically Semi Automatics are not as accurate as Bolt Action or Single Shot Weapons. There are expensive exceptions to the Rule and this Rifle is one of them.

Depends what your doing. The FC boys used Browning BAR .270s for ages and a lot of the old guys liked them on roe. A semi auto is very good for foxing, especially on the lamp, but for stalking it offers only a little advantage to the B/A, and the problems of jamming, accuracy and whatever... but they are quick, which is always handy. Horses for courses, if they were legal I would have one in .223 for foxes, but my deer gun will always be a bolt/lever gun.

Krico is fast, M14 straight pull conversions are rapid too. When you know where your to a bolt gun fairly flies.
