Trailer rates???

I am doing some moving of kit for someone I know and am using my truck and trailer in London.

 

What I would like to know off people is what I should be charging a mile and do I put a wage on tip of this as well?

 

I know this is not arb related but anything to earn a crust and all that.

What sort of milage will be involved? Remember trailers are really cheap to hire so it can't be a huge amount, fuel+====== whatever yo want on top really.

I recently done some work for a good customer of mine, that involved a lot of traveling, with 3.5 ton tippers towing a chipper, traveling 300miles round trip to and from sites. Because of the fuel increases i was worried about the extra cost. He suggested I charge them

50p per mile on top of my day rate. I think that is what he charges his company when he uses his private car.I dont know if that is good bad or fair for a larger van, but it suited me. Probably didnt make any think on it but at lease it covered the fuel.

When u say truck is it new enough for the pollution zone? I would think a wage + congestion charge + 60-80p a mile plus pollution charge.

I will travelling from Northamptonshire into London and then trailering the sculpture around London.

 

My truck is l200 and is def a polluter. There will be congestion charge. The trailer is IW 105.

I think the pollution charge has been posponed due to the powers that be, bancrupted the country. But it is coming for small comms. Could be here now I would check on line as it is £100 a day.

the LEZ charge doesn;t come in until 2012 now 1st of jan I think. So just congestion chatge to worry about. If your L200 is less tyhan 4 years old (i think) or it may be 06 onwards it wont be affected anyway.

£30 -£40 per hour + any congestion/parking charges

if by the mile and get stuck in a jam you may only earn £1 in an hour

the local tool hire company charges £45 +vat per hour for a 7.5 ton lorry and driver
